Having published five books, I've discovered that you always have an audience, even if it may not seem apparent at first. Each book, regardless of its genre, has the potential to resonate with a specific group of readers who share an interest in the themes, styles, or narratives you present. When writing for a particular genre, buyers and, hopefully, readers will be looking for a specific type of text that meets their expectations and aligns with their preferences. This is crucial because understanding your audience's desires can significantly influence the success of your book. To ensure your book sells well in a competitive market, there are several factors you need to consider, each playing an essential role in the overall reception of your work. And remember, if all else fails, you can always try writing a cookbook for cats. They seem to have a very particular audience!
